Vision

The Department of Dermatology of AIIMS Madurai was started on 16.10.2023. It currently has two faculty members, one associate and one assistant professor. Our department Envisions the following in the next 5 years

1. Expansion of department to start OPD and IPD which we need faculty of 4 members and 20 beds (In patients).
2. The department envisages having its own ICU and isolation ward to admit critically ill patients.
3. To start Post Graduate programme in the department
4. The department envisions creating subspecialty clinics viz Allergy clinic, Bullous disorder clinic, Dermatosurgery clinic, connective tissue disorder clinic and Psoriasis clinic.
5. Training of faculty for skill development, Medical Education training, administration, and research at the time of joining and periodical training in the dermatological advancements.
6. Continuous learning by organising/attending CMEs, workshops, and conferences.
7. Developing an aptitude and an environment conducive to research at the UG, PG and faculty levels.

Mission

1. To provide the highest quality and standard of clinical care to our patients.
2. To train M.B.B.S students to deliver efficiently first-contact dermatological care
3. To train postgraduate students & senior residents with the aim to generate future leaders in dermatology.
